Environmental activists and whalers clash again

by Kris Molle last modified 2008-03-03 23:58

For the second time this year, enviromentalists from the Sea Shepherd Organisation and Japanese whalers clashed as the anti-whaling protesters threw bottles with pungent chemicals at the Japanese whalers. They responded by spraying the activists with their waterhoses.

The Japan's Fisheries Agency claims that the action from the protesters injured three of its crew members.

Nobutaka Machimura, government's spokesman said; "This is an act that tries to unfairly harm the safety of a ship and crew that is acting within the law at sea. It's an unforgivable act and we protest strongly."
