Japan will take complaint to the IWC

by Kris Molle last modified 2008-03-07 19:32

The incident between the environmentalist group, the Sea Shepherd, and the Japanese whalers last weekend is one of the issues Japan likes to raise at the IWC meeting this week.

Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura said "It's not permissable to use violence to try to force through one's opinion".

International Whaling Commission (IWC) is meeting this week in London.  Although it is an informal three-day meeting the Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Masatoshi Wakabayashi said "We will take up this case in which the safety of our research was interrupted".
